Project Life Week 6

I can’t believe I have stuck to something for six weeks in a row.

I am still loving the A Bowl Full of Lemons challenge for the Project Life Facebook group…

Here is that side of my layout.  Yes, I forgot to take one!

And my regular side…

Now I need to take some pictures of the the winter storm for next week!

Snowmageddon 2014

Here in South Carolina we are in the beginning stages of what is being called a storm of “epic” proportions. I know those not from the South don’t quite get why we are absolutely crippled by winter weather, but it doesn’t happen that often, and when it does, we just don’t have the resources to deal with it.

My hubby is in Saudi Arabia, so the boys and I are having to go this alone.  With a loaded shotgun, of course.  I have stocked up on groceries so that I can make milk sandwiches.  To prepare for power outages, I have frozen milk jugs of water in my freezer, have the gas logs ready, have lamp oil and new wicks in my great grandmother’s oil lamps, and gas in the generator. The laundry is done, dishwasher run, and electronic devices charged.  Bring it on!

Project Life Week Five

I can’t believe I have actually had five weeks in a row where I have completed a whole Project Life layout!

I must say, the A Bowl Full of Lemons Project Life photo ideas for each month help a lot. The new list for February is out now:

I pondered whether I would keep doing it after January or not, and I decided I would!

Here is my regular side…

I really like the week card, the weekly journal card, the currently card, and the picture of the week’s weather that I have been including each week.

And here is the photo challenge side, that I do Instagram size. I include a printout of the challenge at the beginning of the month…

I had to include the Breaking Bad picture, because while my husband was home from Saudi Arabia I got him hooked!

Project Life Week Four

I am really enjoying my new Project Life habit!

This week I had another week that was half Puerto Rico and half South Carolina. I am saving our vacation pictures for a separate vacation album, and am just putting some general pictures in my weekly album.

I have been doing the monthly A Bowl Full of Lemons Project Life photo challenge.

This week my layout looked like this:

These were my individual pictures…

I Heart Project Life!

Whole30 Challenge

I am transitioning from a low carb diet into a primal diet. I am feeling like a challenge, so I am going to do a Whole30 challenge. I already had the book on which the challenge is based, It Starts With Food, by Dallas and Melissa Hartwig.

This is the Whole30 in a nutshell…

Yes: meat, seafood, eggs, tons of vegetables, some fruit, and plenty of good fats from fruits, oils, nuts and seeds.

No: sugars, alcohol, grains, legumes, dairy, MSG, sulfites, and white potatoes.

Not too bad. I was pretty much doing that anyway. I am not going to lie, the first few days were rough, but then I felt so good I didn’t really mind it as much!

There is a great Whole30 Quick Start Guide , an explanation of the Whole30 Program, Meal Planning Template, Pantry Stocking List, and a Shopping List you can download. And I just found another overview of the program from Whole9, that I think I like even better than the other one.

The 6 quick start steps are:

  1. Clean out your pantry
  2. Plan a week’s worth of menus
  3. Go shopping
  4. Plan your go-to meals
  5. Set yourself up for success
  6. Ditch your scale

I am going to eat pretty much the same thing every day.

Bacon, sausage or ham

Meat or fish
Big salad

Meat or fish

I think it is doable! Day one of thirty starts on Saturday…anyone else with me?
